How do I know what condition the item is in?

The condition of each item is listed in the item description: OPEN BOX - item is unused in an open box or bagged. If it was a floor model, the item may have slight scuffs due to handling; EXCELLENT - Item is used, slight scuffs, scratches, fading & wear; GREAT - Item is used, moderate scuffs, scratches, fading & wear; GOOD - Item is used, prominent scuffs, scratches, fading & wear. We also test, clean and photograph each item to ensure it works as expected.

How are the prices of the items determined?

We use a range of parameters to price items such as the recommended retail price, the condition of the item and what these items retail for in other marketplaces.

How can I pay for the items?

You can add all the items you want to buy to your cart and conveniently pay online at checkout.

What is your returns policy?

Where do you ship items to?

Our courier partner currently ships across the UAE.

Are items shipped assembled?

In most cases where possible items are disassembled for storage and shipping.

How can I change or cancel my order?

What can I sell on Secondgear?

We accept a wide range of baby and toddler items. Here's a full list of accepted items:

  • Baby & Toddler Small Furniture
  • Backpacks & Carriers
  • Bassinets & Sleepers
  • Breast Pumps (Motor must be strong, in excellent condition and still effective)
  • Change Pads
  • Educational Items
  • Feeding Gear
  • Floor Seats
  • Gyms & Playmats
  • High Chairs & Booster Seats (Must be SUPER clean! For safety reasons, we are unable to clean left over food off of any items)
  • Monitors & Electronics
  • Pack n' Plays & Travel Cribs
  • Playards & Gates (Must include ALL hardware (if applicable)
  • Potty Training Gear (Must be SUPER clean! For safety reasons, we are unable to clean bodily fluids off of any items)
  • Strollers (Double, Single, Standard, Jogging, Travel, etc), Stroller Accessories

Unaccepted items:

  • Broken/recalled or otherwise unsafe items
  • Car seats & car seat bases
  • Footwear & clothing (baby, kid, and maternity)

  • Bedding (sheets, crib bumpers/liners, blankets, changing pad covers without a pad, etc)
  • Feeding Gear (bottles, bibs, cups, utensils, nursing covers, cart covers, etc)
  • Strollers and bike trailers that are more than 10 years old
  • Items that are outdated or have reached their end of life
How much does it cost to list my items?

We don’t charge you anything to list your items.  Secondgear takes a percentage of the final sale price of each of the consigned items.

When will I get paid?

Payments will be made up to 14 days after the successful sale of the item.

How will I get paid?

We will transfer your payment to your bank account directly.  After your items have been approved for listing on, we’ll ask you to supply us with your bank details in order to facilitate payments.  You can also log into your seller account and update your details easily.

How do I get the items to you?

Once your items have been approved for listing, our courier partner will contact you to schedule a pick up date and time.

How should the item be prepared for pick up?

Small items where possible should be boxed or bagged. Larger items such as cribs or strollers should be dismantled / folded down. Our collection partners will not accept assembled bulky items.

What happens if my items don't sell?

We list items for 120 days during which time we run marketing campaigns to attract buyers. After 30 days if your item hasn't sold yet, we will start to enable other sale strategies including "price drop". This is where every 10 - 20 days we reduce the price of the item by 5%. This enables us to market the item to a wider range of buyers. If your item still hasn’t sold after 120 days, you can opt to have your item returned to you.

What if I want my items back?

If your item is listed and hasn't sold yet you can arrange to have it delivered back to you for a 35 AED administration fee.

What condition do my items need to be in in order to pass the quality check?

All items undergo a quality and safety check by our in-house quality assurance team to ensure the items are in working condition and safe to use and that the condition we list it for is accurate. Our team will check for recalls to ensure there are no safety issues, they will verify that all parts are present and functional and will wipe down the item and photograph it for listing. Items need to be in working condition with expected amount of ware. Damaged, heavily used or items deemed unsafe will not be accepted. We also reserve the right to reject items due to changes in demand.

What happens if my item doesn't pass the quality check?

If the items cannot be sold on our site at all, we will notify you via email with information on how to arrange for the items to be returned to you.

What type of photos do I need to provide you with?

When uploading your gear, we require photos of the actual items in order to establish initial wear and pricing.  These images won’t be used for the final listing as we inspect, clean and photograph all items before listing them on our site.

I don't live in the pick up area, can I still sell my gear?

We currently operate only in the UAE. If you live outside of the UAE, we won't be able to help you sell your gear just yet, but hopefully in the near future!
